    S&W M&P 15-22 Sport M-Lok .22lr rifle

Posted by Robert on 2019 Jun 23rd

How can you not enjoy this thing? I know it's only a .22 and I'm gonna made fun of at the range. I can live with that because I can shoot all day long without costing a fortune. All that aside, I put about 100 rounds of various brands through my first rifle ( I am a handgun guy) without any problems. I reccomend this rifle to anyone wants to have fun shooting. As for looks, my 26 year old son said it best, " holy sh_t dad, your too old to have one of these. Are you allowed to have one? When can I go to the range with you?" Enough said!!!

    I love the M&P 15-22

The M&P 15-22 is a great .22 rifle as long as you keep a few things in mind. Pro's I bought it for a number of reasons. Most importantly to me, is the manufacturer I love Smith and Wesson. Second its based on the AR platform and that means there are a ton of add-on's that available that will allow you to make this .22 look exactly like you want it to. (There are some limitations as its not a true AR). I am in my 50's but I am not ashamed to admit that the "cool factor" still impacts my buying decisions, so being able to tweak this .22 was a bonus. As a .22 its also incredibly cheap to operate. 525 rounds will run you from $29.99 to $39.99 on average and a bit higher for higher quality brands. Con's Unlike most .22's its classified as a restricted firearm and the standard magazines are limited to 10 rounds. Yes you can buy higher capacity magazines that are legal to use in this rifle but you will also need to buy a loading assist tool that I can't currently find for the life of me. The only other negative I can suggest is the polymer construction. For me this is not a negative but I know that some folks will be a bit put off, so keep that in mind if your not a fan of polymer weapons. Overall. I love the rifle, the build quality feels good and I was pleasantly surprised by the included Magpul MBUS sights. The kick is negligible allowing the rifle to be enjoyed by smaller framed shooters and its just a ton of fun to shoot.
