I was considering getting a Shimano DC reel, but two issues kept from choosing one of those - the fact those have what I consider a relatively low number of bearings for their price, and reviews by users saying gears become noisy or gritty, so I decided to go with this relatively new option from Abu Garcia instead, with its top notch specs and the electric break function. Setup was easy - I loaded it up with 20lb braid and a 1/4oz Texas rigged worm, and started to dial down the spool rotation control and then the break dial going from tight to loose until I hit the sweet spot between casting distance without any backlash or bird's nest. The reel makes what I consider a really cool (and typical for electric break reels) whizzing sound when you cast, and I've been really casting to 30+ yards without any backlash - even into rather strong head winds. I'm very very happy with this reel - even happier with the amazing price Al Flaherty was selling it for, and I whole heartedly recommend getting it from them - I always loved shopping at the store in person - this online shopping experience now with this spool was every bit as top notch as my in person shopping experience buying from them. I'll also mention that delivery was very fast (I now live 3 hours east of Toronto in a rural area), so an outstanding experience from all aspects.
