What You Need to Know About Work Boots

When you’re on the job site or working in your backyard garage, you need the right safety gear. In this blog post from Al Flaherty’s, we’ll look at what you need to know about choosing the proper work boots in Canada for the job.

Steel toes are a must for good-quality boots because they protect the most vulnerable part of the foot. Many boots are CSA-approved which means they meet testing standards. You can identify these boots by the green tag affixed to them. Other boots are built to different requirements that are similar to CSA standards.

Work boots should have sturdy puncture-resistant soles to protect your feet when you’re walking through construction debris or a similar environment. These soles are also usually slip-resistant as well.

If you’re going to be wearing your boots in the winter, make sure that you select insulated ones. There are lined winter work boots available with temperature ratings as low as -100°C.

In addition to tall boots that cover the lower leg, you can also find work boots that are much lower and more shoe-like if you are spending part of your day in an office, not on the job site.
