Edged perfection designed by Wes Hibben. If the last name Hibben sounds familiar, it's because it should. Wes is the son of the legendary Gil Hibben, a man who has designed blades for hunting, survival and the silver screen for more than 65 years — he also designed the very first Browning knives that first appeared in our 1969 catalog.

Wes Hibben learned the knife making craft from his father and shaped his future at the age of eight when he built and sold his first knife. Growing up, Wes spent every minute he could in his father’s shop learning then, as an adult, took his skills North to the great state of Alaska. Many of his edged creations are inspired by his personal experiences spent in the wilds as a hunter. His experience as a knifemaker, along with his passion for hunting and the outdoors, have culminated in the Guide Series, the next generation of knives to share both the Hibben and Browning names.

Luxury performance. Even with a beautiful appearance, the real value of a high-quality knife is obvious when it is put to the test field dressing and skinning big game. Cutting through thick tendons, nicking heavy bones and slicing though hide and coarse hair takes a toll on every blade. The steel of a quality blade will hold an edge longer and be easily touched up to finish the job. The blade shape and balance should minimize hand and arm fatigue while optimizing every cut. The scales should offer excellent grip whether your hands are cold or slicked with sweat. Browning Guide Series knives have the design pedigree and use the materials needed to make quick work of field dressing tasks.
