Love it
I really love this gun. Childhood nostalgia from a movie stuck with me and I wanted something, especially for my wife to have at the cabin for protection while I hunt. Especially where we are getting more polar bears around the cabin these years. I also want to use it for spruce partridge hunting. It feels good to hold and is quite weighty. Would love to get the 28” as well.

Love It
I always wanted this gun and I'm in love with it. It's not going to be one of my main hunting guns or anything but I can definitely use it for ptarmigan or home defense. I can also leave it with my fiance at the cabin for what I worry about more and more these days, a polar bear possibly coming by while she's alone and I'm off hunting. A couple things I'd like to mention is that the recoil pad is thin, hard plastic. Look into a thicker, rubber replacement. Accessories for this gun are hard to find. I went with the single trigger because I'm a sucker for that gold trigger and I have no intention of firing both barrels at the same time or do any trick shooting. It's simplicity I want and it's what it is.

Stoger Coach Gun, single trigger
This is not a $3000 shotgun but for a few hundred dollars it is a very good gun for it’s intended market. Yes it has interior matching and tool marks, but a couple hours with a fine stone and compound will make this gun slick as can be. On the outside the blueing is good, the quality if wood on my example was very nice, fit and finish overall good+. If you don’t have the desire or skills (doesn’t take much) to smooth it out, it will do so after a few hundred rounds fired at the range and/or working the action without ammo to break it in. BTW, the staff at Al’s are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, not something you’ll find at the larger fishing/hunting conglomerate stores. Al Flaherty has been around for decades, not because of luck but good service, great staff, and competitive pricing. Looking forward to my next trip to the store!
