    I think this item should be included with the kit as I can't see how you would use the kit without it. The only issue I had with it is that the vertical piece keeps loosening during use because the fit at the top is a bit tight. Maybe that will resolve itself as it wears in? Seems fairly sturdy. I used C-clamps to fasten it to a work table.
